.:Lexi & Sara’s Senior Photos:.

•November 12, 2008 • 1 Comment

Tuesday I had my first high school senior photo shoot with Lexi and Sara. I’ve known Lexi and Sara for over two years now. They are in the youth group I help lead at North Ridge Community Church. We actually first attempted to do the shoot on Sunday afternoon, but it happened to be one of the only days during the year when it’s ridiculously windy here in Phoenix. Sara and Lexi were great, they were pros in front of the camera. I’m sure it comes from all the church trips we’ve been on when they insist on being in every single photo I take. Make sure to check out the slideshow for more of my favorite shots from the day.

I was trying to get them to take a picture together, and Sara thought it was best if she stood right in front of Lexi

.:Visit from the Family:.

•November 6, 2008 • 3 Comments

Last weekend my family from Texas came out to visit my sister and I. We went up to Sedona and stayed at the Los Abrigados Resort. It was a beautiful and relaxing weekend. We did a little hiking, took a helicopter ride over Sedona, and went up to the Grand Canyon for a day. They had never been to Arizona before, and were spoiled by the beauty of the red rock country. My parents loved it so much that they bought a time share in Sedona, which I’m looking forward to using for some weekend getaways. It was good to be able to spend time with the fam, especially this weekend.

First helicopter ride! Absolutely breathtaking views over Sedona. Special thanks to Don, with Arizona Helicopter Adventures, for a great time.

It was really challenging to get some quality photos while in the cockpit. I had to fight the glare and haze from the windshield.

Leaving the Canyon we saw a couple of elk on the side of the rode. I was surprised to be able to get this close. Shot this with my 24-70 lens.

So I was going through a couple of photographers blogs tonight, David Jay’s being one of them, and I found this http://buildpipelines.blogspot.com/2008/10/make-me-give-til-it-hurts.html. This guy Deyl is giving up $10 to this great cause for every comment he receives on the video. So go to that link and leave a positive comment. It’s easy…. do it. Happy Halloween!

.:Hiking Trip with The Element:.

•October 26, 2008 • 4 Comments

I took about a hour and a half drive up north with a group of folks from The Element to Sedona yesterday. We took a little hike in Oak Creek Canyon, and it was beautiful. It was great getting the chance to meet a couple new people, and to talk about life with others. Special thanks to Chad Demiguel for setting this trip up for us, we had a great time. Hope there are more trips like this to come.
